Gold lettering present. Cover: general wear marks on outer upper and lower corners. leather flaking on spine edge. Dark discolored spot on lower right corner. Binding: Cover/Spine hinge still connected. Front endpapers intact. Decorative image of a paper scroll on back end papers recto and verso, no inscription. Title Page: Intact. triangular cockling crease marks on upper right and lower left corners. Name of Tuttle in upper right corner in pencil. Discolored spot in right edge margin near first paragraph. Text: Triangular Cockling continued on beginning pages. Slight foxing present. Inscription: Front inside pastedown listing “Maria Brown’s Premium 1839” in Decorative Ink 3/4s of the page. Additional names Maria Brown Tuttle and J.S. Tuttle Niles in pencil, Notes: Front inside pastedown listing “63712” in ink in upper edge.
